First and foremost
If you are 18 years or older and can show an acceptance letter from a university, college or Higher Vocation Education (Swedish: YH-utbildning), you can live in our student apartments. You can also apply for our student apartments if you are studying at a distance.
You need to study a minimum of 15 higher education credits (Swedish: högskolepoäng) per term. If your education does not award higher education credits, this is equivalent to studying at half pace.
If you are attending a Higher Vocation Education within Komvux, or another education which in accordance with the regulation on support for art and culture education, you are also able to live in our student apartments.
Applying for a student apartment
You can apply for available student apartments as soon as you have received your written acceptance letter. All our apartments are let through The Stockholm Housing Agency. You can find them here.
Living in a student apartment will not affect your queue time at The Stockholm Housing Agency. So you will keep the queue time you had when you move in – and will continue to collect queue time while living there.
Before you can move in, we will carry out a review by checking your credit score and collecting references from previous accommodation, if you have them. We do not carry out an income check for students.
Subletting
To be able to apply to sublet your student apartment, you need to have been living there for at least six months before the requested subletting period. If you have done so, you can submit your application here.
Cancelling your contract
The notice period for a student apartment is two full calendar months. For example, if your last day of studying is on 30th April, you need to cancel your contract before 28th (29th) February. You then need to hand back your keys at your nearest Svenska Bostäder office before 12.00 (noon) the following working day.
