Svenska Bostäder is building a new open broadband network, SB Bredband, to all its apartments and most premises. The network is built of optic fiber (fiber to the home) to make sure it will have enough capacity to meet the demands of today and tomorrow. The whole network will be ready in the end of 2010.
It´s an open network which means that the customer can choose between serveral suppliers for each service.
Today the new broadband network has been built in the following areas: Akalla, Husby, Kista, Rinkeby, Tensta, Vällingby, Grimsta, Vinsta, Hässelby, Blackeberg, Bromma, Bromsten, Vårberg, Skärholmen, Bredäng, Östberga, Solberga, Liljeholmen, Hammarby Sjöstad and some new buildings in the inner city.
At present, projects are going on in Kärrtorp and Södermalm. For a comprehensive timeschedule, see below.
